Material & Environment Study

2015 · Chipboard

To explore the relationship between objects, materials, and environment, various chipboard structures were developed to contain a single beach stone and a white, wood cube.

By making only minor modifications to each form, the beach stone was carried from one position through an entire 90 degree rotation: a single notch was rotated ten degrees per step, and a sloping cutout was designed at various depths to maintain the illusion of a seamless transformation. Later, an environment study inspired by the initial set of containers incorporated a cube in addition to the beach stone.
